About Us

True risk management incorporates risk avoidance, reduction, assumption, and transfer. A practice needs to be consultative in its approach.

In 1974 I began my insurance career as a Personal Lines Sales Representative for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Saddle Brook, NJ. After four years of service with Liberty, I spent two years as a Commercial Insurance Marketing Representative with the Insurance Company of North America based in White Plains, NY.

After having spent time with a "direct writer" and an insurance company, I decided to learn the independent agency business. With the Rollins Agency of Bronxville, NY I managed a satellite office in Ossining, NY. As an independent agent I sold and serviced commercial and personal insurance.

In 1984 I joined Marsh & McLennan as the Manager of their New York Private Client Group. Our focus was on the sales and service of personal insurance to the high net worth individuals and families.

Since 2007 I have been trying to find the appropriate firm to continue with a private client focus.

Risk Management is not just for Fortune 1,000 Companies. After 30 years of designing personal insurance programs for high net worth individuals and families I realize that the existing personal insurance agency/broker system is not always able to respond to all their unique needs.

Although risk transfer may be the best solution in many instances, risk avoidance, risk assumption, and risk reduction can provide protection for little or no cost. Each needs to be evaluated based upon a cost versus benefit basis.

WS Risk Management Consulting operates on an "open architecture" platform., a philosophy utilized by many wealth management firms which allows greater flexibility of products and solutions. As a fee-based consultant I can now offer an unbiased analysis of existing property and liability programs and provide solutions not limited to a few insurance companies represented by one brokerage. Once my initial review is agreed upon and completed, I can be retained to work in conjunction with the existing insurance agents/brokers to implement the plan, conduct annual reviews for continued adequacy, and assist in the claims settlement process.

WS Risk Management Consulting is a second set of eyes to re-evaluate the client's possibility for risk and oversee that it is being mitigated in the best possible way. Services are billed on a fee basis depending on the complexity of the account.
